Can some one help me understand what does "Listening to device rings" status mean ?
when faxstat -s was executed, I was seeing the channels showing the above status for sometime (~10 mins) .
Is there a document that can show the various status of hylafax modem along with a breif description of what it means.
I am new to hylafax and searched thru the documentation available online, but did not find anything that would help.

"Listening to device rings" indicates that the modem has reported to faxgetty that it has detected an incoming call but that either the number of rings has not yet reached RingsBeforeAnswer or that somehow faxgetty is unable to subsequently instruct the modem to answer the call and attempt to receive a fax.
