I just noticed the "hihat pressure group" feature, and I think this tries to 
achieve a similar goal. As far as I understand, it can be used to record a 
single instrument (hihat) into separate tracks depending in the value of a 
MIDI controller. However, if this is the way it is implemented, it is less 
convenient to manually edit the controller value since this would require to 
remove a note from a track and add it to another one. Changing velocity is 
very intuitive, just alter the height of the vertical bar below the 
corresponding note. It would be great to have a similarly convenient way to 
edit hihat pedal position.
