so i received some response from artemiy directly (i somehow did manage to reach him). On 09/18/2017 05:03 PM, IOhannes m zmölnig (Debian/GNU) wrote: > > hydrogen includes (via the drumkit feed) a few official drumkits that > are attributed to artemio (Artemiy Pavlov), among them > ElectricEmpireKit, HardElectro1, VariBreaks & these are indeed licensed under the "GPL" (GPL-2+) > EasternHop-1, HipHop-1, HipHop-2, Synthie-1 it seems that these consist of sounds sampled from some hardware drummachines, where the copyright of the sounds (most likely) resides with the manufacturer of the boxes (mostly Roland). as such they are probably not *free* to distribute and use for "any" purpose (it might be possible to use them for some purposes, i don't know); very much like a number of other "official" drumkits based on hardware boxes like the MC-307, DR-110,...). there are still some more drumkits where i haven't found any information on the actual licenses. * "Drumkit excepcionel" (Pedro Maurício) says "creative commons", but not which variant thereof. * "Lightning1024" (Esteban Mariano Romanelli) says "Free!!!". what does that mean? public domain? CC-SA-3.0? GPL? * "Deathmetal (sf)" (Archman) says "CC-Attribution", but which version of CC-BY? CC-BY-4.0? * "Erny's percussions (sf)" (Erny) no license information at all * "K-27" (Wolke) no license information at all. (but I guess that "Wolke" is Michael Wolkstein, whose kits say "Do not redistribute or publish the inluded samples.") ideas? maybe you can help me getting in contact with the authors (i haven't found any contact information whatsoever) gmards IOhannes |
