I have encountered difficulties in updating Hydrogen (with expanded drumsets) to a computer running Windows XP, and have rendered the pre-update program non-functional on that computer. I receive this message after installing the update from a thumb drive downloaded on a different computer (which I do use online):
The procedure entry point CancelloEX could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll
Consequently, the program will not run on the computer, which because of the aged-out Windows XP operating system, I do not run online, ie, not connected to the internet.
I tried copying the Hydrogen Program after running the set up, and this time, I got a different error message:
The application has failed to start because libhydrogen-core 0.9.7.dll was not found
Can you possibly email a file to jdecrist@dejazzd.com so that I can put it on a zip drive and make the update workable on the old computer? If not, do you have a fix?
I am a big fan of Hydrogen, and have used it extensively on home recordings. Here's one of my recent favorites:

Hello Joe!
The error message
The procedure entry point CancelloEX could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dllseems to indicate that this version does not run on Windows XP, a similiar bug has been reported at our github bugtracker: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues/917.You could try to download https://sourceforge.net/projects/hydrogen/files/Hydrogen/1.0.0%20Binaries/Hydrogen-1.0.0-beta1-win32.exe/download and copy this file to your old computer, and install it there. According to the github issue, this version of Hydrogen will still work with Windows XP.
Thanks for your reply. A few comments in response.
1. The link to github is not available, so I was unable to check
out the previous bug report.
2. I uninstalled the unworkable Hydrogen on the XP computer,
downloaded the beta link on the Windows 10 computer, copied it to a
thumb drive, reinstalled on the offline XP computer, and got the same
error message when attempting to open the program after what appeared to
be a successful installation.
3. I uninstalled again, and used my original saved download on the
XP computer to reinstall the first Hydrogen program (version .09*) from
several years ago, but its performance is dodgy.
4. Likewise, it appears that the .h2song files created on the
online 64 bit Windows 10 computer are not readable by the old program
(despite manually copying to thumb drive and then to the Hydrogen folder
on the offline, XP computer.
5. I'm considering yet another attempt to uninstall and once again
attempt to reinstall the Beta 1.0 verson, but I'm wondering if it's
worth it, especially since the Beta version is 32 bit and I would
suspect is incapable of using files created on the 64 bit system. Is
that about right? Is there any way to make files created in the 64 bit
Windows 10 system compatible with the 32 bit XP computer?
I'd be grateful for any guidance you can offer based on these comments.

No joy here. I uninstalled, downloaded the link and tried to install, the installation proceeded, but I am still unable to run H2 on the old computer, still getting the same error message regarding CancelloEX. Ideas?
Hi Joe!
i'm sorry, i've messed up the link to github, there was an addtional "." at its end. The correct link is: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues/917 .
About the file compatibility: It is problematic if you open songs which were built with 1.0 in older versions of Hydrogen, but it is not problematic to use files which have been generated with 32bit version with the 64 bit version (and vice versa).
The older versions of Hydrogen are also available on Sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hydrogen/files/Hydrogen/ . I'm afraid i can't offer any help beyond that at the moment, but i understand how frustrating the situation is. We always try to support older operating system, but we rely on other software (QT in this case) which has limitiation concerning operating system support..
No apologies necessary, I am entirely grateful for the insights you
share. I have really come to appreciate the updated Hydrogen running on
my Windows 10 computer (cool new drum sets, instrument muting/soloing
capability to name a couple of terrific features missing from the first
version I downloaded and which I am running on the XP computer.) BTW,
pandemic has curtailed live rehearsals, so folks with whom I have played
music for the past few decades continue to attempt to play together
online using JamKazam, with which we uniformly experience an
irresistible tendency, perhaps latency-related, to slow down the beat;
we are slowly learning to use simply programmed Hydrogen patterns as a
way to have a fixed beat reference, and they are a notch better than the
JamKazam metronome... the possibility of using Hydrogen as a separate
instrument in JKZ jams was what prompted my initial inquiry.
A new glitch in the process of using Hydrogen optimally on the XP
computer seems to be inability to save in the h2song format....when I
open a titled song from the limited archive, it loads as an "untitled
song", and no matter where I try to save, I can't seem to
retrieve...perhaps some program corruption in the series of
uninstall/install I went through after bumping into that kernel 32 error
message?
I will explore a bit more based on your welcome reply. Thanks!!
BTW, still no joy in finding the substance of the corrected github link,
even after eliminating the presumably superfluous "space" between the
"7" and the "."
