That did the trick. Thanks. BTW, for anyone who walks this path after me, I was wrong about WTE using Xerces - it uses XML4J. VAJ 3.5.3 uses XML4J 2.0.15 - an old version. The packages at issue were org.xml.sax and org.w3c.dom. I removed from my workspace the JTidy project that I had imported from the JTidy jar. Then I added the WTE feature. Then I created a new project called "JTidy Jtidy Only". I used the repository explorer to add the org.xml.tidy package to this project. I also imported the resources from the Tidy jar into this project (because I didn't know how to take them from the repository). At this point, my JUnit tests run at 100%, so I assume I'm done.
