This error is usually caused by a proxy server that does not allow WebDav traffic. You'll need to configure your proxy to allow WebDav, or bypass it in some way.

How do I do that?

It all depends on what proxy server you are using.
There are so many that I couldn't even begin to guess at how to do it exactly.
Have a look through your proxy server settings and see if you can find an option for the allowed HTTP methods. Make sure it has PROPFIND, BMOVE and PROPPATCH, as well as the usual HTTP methods like GET and POST

I am having the same problem with 1 of 2 of my accounts. The account that I get the "could not connect to "hotmail" Not Implemented" is a Hotmail Plus account. Which is an upgrade to 2 GB in storage space. Would this be affecting the plugin? I am also not behind a proxy server.

I'm having the same problem here (could not connect / not implemented). I'm also using it on a Hotmail "plus" account. I'm not behind a proxy and I had not installed any software or made any other changes to my system between when it was working and when it stopped working. I had been running version 1.37. After encountering the problem I tried several normal things restarting, repair permissions, connecting through a different netowrk, waiting, etc. That didn't work, so I tried updating to version 1.40 but enountered the same problem. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that did not help either.
I wish I had more details to help narrow this down. It does seem that eddiemoney114 and I are both having the problem with "plus" accounts (not sure about galeninjapan). Perhaps there is something different in the way those accounts are handled.

Mine is not a Plus account but i am using httpmail on 2 seperate hotmail accounts. Mail will not send e-mail with either of them it just sits in the inbox. The other account has the same problems galeninjapan has. Mail will download e-mail from account 2 but it will disconnect giving the not implemented error or telling me there was a problem with the network
Account 2 will also bring up a error message when trying to send an e-mail, Saying Port 25 timed out and ask if i want to try another server... I am not behind a proxy or a firewall so i don't understand why i am getting a time out error.

How can I get mail to fetch my Junk mail from Hotmail?

I've just had it confirmed that this is a problem with the Microsoft servers. Even official Microsoft clients like Outlook Express and Entourage appear to be affected.
It is very odd because not everybody gets the error.

I just installed httpmail on my powerbook and I am getting a strange error. I wanted to migrate to mac mail because Entourage was too freaking slow and gave me too many beachballs. I get the following error when I try to login to my hotmail acct via mac mail.
Could not connect to 'Hotmail Account'
Authorization Required
I don't have this problem with Entourage (I just checked), so I figured that it was something to do with the httpmail plugin. If anyone has any insight into this problem...please by all means let me know. BTW, this is a hotmail plus account as well.

Messing around with the problem somemore. It looks as if httpmail isn't sending my password to hotmail. I checked my settings in mac mail for the hotmail account and the password field was blank. However, I did enter the password when I setup the account. I reentered the password and saved the settings and went back to edit the account settings and the password field was blank again...any ideas?

Well, after a little bit of messing around I finally got the problem fixed. I needed to change my user name to include the @hotmail.com. Setup instructions on the net said to eliminate the @hotmail.com portion of your email address for the username field. Adding the @hotmail.com back to the username fixed the problem and all seems well.

Fixed the non-existant password problem, but still am getting the same authorization error. Help would be appreciated...
