I found something about why in my Mail.app's "IN" box I don't see the hotmail account named properly. if my account is "gralem@hotmail.com" and I name this account "hotmail", then in ~/Library/Mail, there is a tree for this mail called "HTTPMail-gralem@hotmail.com". In this folder there is no mailbox tree for "INBOX.mbox". When I manually create a directory called "INBOX.mbox" and then "touch INBOX.mbox/mbox", the name starts showing up in Mail's "IN" section.

I have only seen this behaviour on a newly created account before Mail is restarted. After a restart Mail appears to see the account properly. Thanks for the info though it may help me find the solution :)
