I installed version 1.44 on Tiger using the installer. I followed the instructions for setting up the account, including setting the outoing server to "None".
I can receive emails without any problems, however, when I try to send I get an error window: "Cannot send message using the server oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com". I get the opportunity to select a different server (choices are oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com, services.msn.com and smtp.email.msn.com). No matter which of these I choose, I receive the same error message.
By the way, I had installed an earlier version several weeks ago, but never really used it.
Any help or debugging tips appreciated...

I should have mentioned that it is an @msn.com email account, not hotmail.com
I uninstalled and reinstalled, and the problem went away. Somehow I had a bad outgoing mail server default.
