I have been running into the problem of duplicate downloads of
messages (OS 10.3.8, mail v1.3.9, http mail plugin v1.42).
My messages from Hotmail will be downloaded. I will then move
some into local folders, delete others, and leave the rest in my
(local) inbox. At some later time (minutes, hours, or days later),
some of the messages that I have previously deleted or moved to
other local folders (on my mac) will get downloaded again to my
(local) inbox, instead of being deleted from the Hotmail inbox.
This is happening with HTTP Mail Plugin is set to "mark downloaded
messages as read", and also when set to "Synchronize with the
server"
I had changed it from "Synchronize with the server" to "mark
downloaded messages as read," thinking it was just an issue or
misunderstanding on how the Synchronize with the server setting
is supposed to work. However, I have witnessed it occuring in both
situations now over the last couple of days.
If I log into hotmail via a web browser, there will only be one
occurance of the message in my inbox there.

It appears this issue has something to do with new messages being
moved or deleted locally and the changes or modifications to those
particular messages not being retained locally or relayed back to the MSN
servers properly.
