#16 Windows 8 firewall problem

v1.0 (example)

http_tunnel_client.exe creates a temporary executable each time it is started. This makes windows 8 ask me to openup the firewall, every time http_tunnel_client.exe is started. Isn't it possible to do without the temporary executable?

The windows excutable is created by a perl compiler, so this behavior depends on it.
The creator of this great tunnelling tool doesn't follow it anymore. I took the administration f the project half a year agom because I didn't want it to be lost, but up to now I didn't have time to dig into it, especially the window version (I'm using it on linux)

If you manage to install perl and run the perl scripts on Windows 8, you might avoid this firewall annoying warning. I will try to look if the perl compiler has a newer version, or an option avoiding this behaviou, but I can't be sure when I'll be able to do it...

I do not use Windows 8 (argh!), but I think there should be a way to add files to an exception list in the Windows Firewall (at least Windows 7 has this option).

BTW, who needs a firewall in a personal machine? Most people live behind a NAT, so your network firewall should be more than enough. So unless you're surrounded by hackers using all their knowledge to get your mom pictures, just disable it. Problem solved.
