[htop-general] Usernames longer than 8 characters are cut

Dear htop mailing list people,

I am running the standard Debian htop squeeze package (version 0.8.3-1 
http://packages.debian.org/squeeze/htop). The Problem is that for 
usernames longer than 8 characters only the first 8 characters are shown 
in the USER column of htop. The problem remains even if I compile htop 
in version 0.9 (without any non-standard options enabled in the 
cinfigure-script). A google search and a search in your mailing list 
archive have not yielded a solution to my problem.
Is there a way for htop to show the full username (and to increase the 
width of the USER column)?
