Yes. The Port example is too out of date. I will fix
that.

The same is on my Mandrake Linux. The message comes
from somewhere inside libgnome and I don't know why.
Despite of this the library works well.

This is strangely. I still use ghc-6.0 and the library
is not tested with 6.0.1. The both GIO and Port are
independent from Text package.

All example programs from GIO works well. Can you tell
me for concrete example which doesn't work?
