This means that your webserver is incorrectly configured: it should serve javascript files with the right content type. This has no consequence on htmlunit. Marc. Hi Marvin, a javascript:... action for a form should not be a problem. I guess that your test case should contain: assertEquals( "Willkommen", page2.getTitleText()); and not page2.asTest(). Are you sure that this login/password is correct (testing it right now fails in a normal browser, but perhaps have you blocked it)? To see which requests are performed, you can use the DebuggingWebConnection. Marc. None currently but this would make sense because "normal" browsers support it. I know that webtest uses jemmy (http://jemmy.netbeans.org/) to drive test scenarii on applets. Perhaps could it be a solution for htmlunit too. Feel free to submit a patch ;-) Marc. Some suppport exists for XmlHttp but it is not complete. Things like this are implemented based on demand. If we had a list of everything we -didn't- support then we would probably support it :) Brad C --- Robert Knox <Rob...@pl...> wrote: > Hi, > > > > The page I am trying to parse uses the async AJAX call. Dear htmlunit users, i would like to verify a login on a certain page (wwwmatthes.in.tum.de). The login form consists of "email1" field for the user, a "password" field and a submit button called "Login". Now i would like to check whether login fails or not. i got a valid user on this system and the password is 100% correct. but when testing this kind of functinality, htmlunit gets (as i can see through page.asText()) a "Password not Excepted" back. I got the assumption, that the JavaScript in the action attribut of the form causes this. it looks like <form method="post" action='javascript:frame.requestLogin(document.loginForm.email1.value, document.loginForm.password.value, "-7818340800977212337")' name="loginForm" style="margin:0 "> I'am using htmlunit 1.7 and eclipse 3.1 here's my testclass. thanks a lot public class LoginPageTest extends TestCase{ public void testLogin() throws Exception{ final WebClient wc = new WebClient(BrowserVersion.MOZILLA_1_0); final URL url = new URL("http://wwwmatthes.in.tum.de"); final HtmlPage page1 = (HtmlPage) wc.getPage(url); //get the form final HtmlForm form = page1.getFormByName("loginForm"); //select the fields of the form final HtmlTextInput user = (HtmlTextInput)form.getInputByName("email1"); final HtmlPasswordInput pass = (HtmlPasswordInput)form.getInputByName("password"); //set the input into the fields user.setValueAttribute("mar...@ey..."); pass.setValueAttribute("eyezonly456"); //get the button final HtmlSubmitInput button = (HtmlSubmitInput) form.getInputByName("Login"); //push the button final HtmlPage page2 = (HtmlPage)button.click(); assertEquals( "Willkommen", page2.asText()); } |

Nevermind, I've been mistaken by Firefox. When I ask it the source code=20 of a web page, it seems it build it from its own model because some=20 elements aren't in the same order. And the </form> element isn't at this=20 place in the initial page. I apologize for having disturbed. Romain. Romain Thouvenin a =E9crit : > Hi, > > I've tested a page with bad html code. Hi, I've tested a page with bad html code. It looks like : <form name="formulaire" method="post" action="javascript:submitData();"></form> <input name="nom" value="" size="45" maxlength="80" type="text"> <input name="bouton_enregistrer" value="Enregistrer" onclick="submitData();" type="button"> It works with Firefox and IE. When in HtmlUnit, I try to look for the input named "nom" in the form, I find it and can set it. Strange... But when I look for the input named "bouton_enregistrer" (still in the form), I get the ElementNotFoundException. I know I cannot trust HtmlUnit if the source code is wrong, but I'd like to understand this paradoxx. Is somebody able to do so ? Thanks, Romain |

OK. Anyway, I wanted frames to work in order to access a javascript menu=20 that is not supported by HtmlUnit, so it is not a severe problem. Sorry but I don't have time to go into your code (at least on this mailing list). If you find a real problem with htmlunit and are able to isolate it, then please open a bug issue. Marc. Hi, navigator.javaEnabled() returns false in htmlunit because htmlunit doesn't currently support applets. Marc. Hi, I'm trying to simulate two web browser windows being open sharing the same session. However, I'm not getting far doing this with htmlunit. Currently, I'm using openWindow() on my existing WebClient instance so that both windows are serviced from the same client. This does not appear to be working as intended though. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Thanks, Kevin |

Team: =20 I'm hoping that someone can give me some insight (links are fine ;) into how the javaEnabled() navigator function relates back into htmlunit. Here's my current scenario: =20 I create a default WebClient and browse to a page that uses the 'navigator.javaEnabled()' function. This function returns something other than 'true', and I'm not sure why. =20 I've done some digging and have come up with references to the JavaScriptConfiguration.xml file which is in the HtmlUnit JAR, and I have tried explicitly setting JS to be enabled on the WebClient (even though the doc's say it's enabled by default). =20 Am I missing something here? =20 Thanks in advance, =20 Tom |

Sorry, i didn't realized that XNIException don't use the cause system,=20 but its own wrapped exception. I went through all the causes, and I=20 discovered you were right : the initial cause is a NoClassDefFoundError..= . In fact it was the jaxen library that was not up to date and caused the=20 issue. Thanks for this help. But I still have the frame problem... :( The java code of the test is : >HtmlPage indexPage =3D (HtmlPage) browser.getPage(new=20 URL("http://localhost:8080/pages/")); >HtmlForm identForm =3D indexPage.getFormByName("FRIndex"); /* line 4= 4 */ >HtmlTextInput login =3D (HtmlTextInput)identForm.getInputByName("login"= ); >HtmlPasswordInput pass =3D=20 (HtmlPasswordInput)identForm.getInputByName("pass"); and the thrown exception=20 :com.gargoylesoftware.htmlunit.ElementNotFoundException:=20 elementName=3D[form] attributeName=3D[name] attributeValue=3D[FRIndex] at=20 com.gargoylesoftware.htmlunit.html.HtmlPage.getFormByName(HtmlPage.java:3= 07) at com.sfwan.tester.tests.TestNavig.main(TestNavig.java:44) Any mistake of my own ? Another info: I'm quite sure that you still have classpath issues. The XNIException you've sent is generated by nekoHtml 0.9.4 whereas you should use version 0.9.5 with the latest CVS sources of htmlunit. Marc. I don't have any experience building htmlunit with ant but it shouldn't be the cause of the problem: the cruisecontrol process set up by Brad takes less than 2' to build htmlunit using ant. Marc. |

There isn't any nested cause in the XNIException (I catched it and=20 printed all the causes). I didn't find any public method of XNIException=20 which could have provided some further information... I got nothing else=20 than the stack trace I sent. I may download all the needed sources, and have a look at it in order to=20 find a cause to the problem. I use ant to build the project. I don't have maven installed and never=20 needed it before. I use at the same time several java applications which=20 use a lot of memory (particularly Eclipse and an Orion server), but none uses huge processor=20 ressources. Quite strange... Romain.
