You can get the xml node from any HtmlElement by calling the getElement() method. This can then be used as the starting element. -- Mike Bowler Principal, Gargoyle Software Inc. this raises a question I have had on my mind for a while: what about specifying elements via XPath? There are XPath implementations around that can operate on a standard DOM, so if that was accessible (I didnt find it in Htmlunit, but must be around somewhere), one could point to any elements via XPath. There are even free graphical tools available to create XPath expressions from a web page. - Christian Mike Bowler wrote: > Teo Kian Lee wrote: > >> Is there a way to get htmltable (from htmlpage) without any table id >> assigned? > > > Nothing really simple. On the page, you could call getHtmlElementsByTagName() to retrieve all the tables or you could call getHtmlElementsByAttribute() if you know one specific attribute that has been set on the table. Does HtmlUnit currently support the javascript "document.all"? I get a null pointer exception from org.mozilla.javascript.ScriptableObject.getProperty(ScriptableObject.java:1396) I have a simple page like this: <html> <body> <div id='ARSMenuDiv1' style='VISIBILITY: hidden; POSITION: absolute; z-index: 1000000'></div> <script language='Javascript'> var divObj = document.all["ARSMenuDiv1"]; </script> </body> </html> __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi there, I was wondering how to get a page from a Javascript open call, so far no matter how I try, I always get "null" for the page. I'm catching the webWindowOpened event, and have tried public void webWindowOpened( WebWindowEvent e ) { e.getWebWindow.getEnclosedPage(); e.getNewPage(); e.getOldPage(); } again. All these methods return null. Am I missing something here? I'm just trying to access the HtmlPage object that should have been created. thanks, -rob |

Teo Kian Lee wrote: > I m new to HTMLUnit and have a problem. Kindly enlighten me on where i went > wrong. First of all, be aware that googles usage policy specifically prohibits using a bot to access their content. By using HtmlUnit to access google, you are violating their usage agreement. HtmlUnit 1.2 has a problem with external javascript files that are referenced from within the body which is most likely the problem you are seeing. This bug has already been fixed in cvs - if you want to try building a new jar from cvs then refer to http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net/buildingFromCvs.html I'll be packaging up a 1.2.1 release fairly soon. There seem to have been a number of bugs reported yesterday and I haven't had a chance to go through them all to see which ones are critical and should go into 1.2.1 -- Mike Bowler Principal, Gargoyle Software Inc. Took me a little while to realize I needed jars from /build/lib as well as the ones in /dist/lib since my Eclipse was setup to output to /build and deleted /build/lib as soon as I checked out :p I've attached the .project and .classpath required for Eclipse, as well as a build.bat example that I use to make the distro (Eclipse + Ant still doesn't work right for me, so this just does it manually). I'll be beta testing the CheckStyle 3.0 soonish, so I'll add support for that with your rules once I can. If you could toss these in your CVS I would greatly appreciate it. Brad C now on to that annoying redirect message.... |

The problem appears to be that NekoHTML is getting confused by the <noscript> tag and is converting the <input> into an xml text node rather than the element node that it should be. I've sent an email to the author of NekoHTML with a test case. Please open a bug report for this one and I'll update it when I hear back. -- Mike Bowler Principal, Gargoyle Software Inc. If they are using JDK1.4 then they'll likely be using the jdk1.4 log and if they have log4j in their classpath, they'll be using log4j. There isn't a way to change the logging level that is independant of the logger being used. That's the problem. -- Mike Bowler Principal, Gargoyle Software Inc. You can do the same thing by setting the system property "org.apache.commons.logging.simplelog.defaultlog". However, then you might miss warnings you care about. Additionally, JDK 1.4 comes with its own logging package and commons-logging will use it if it detects its presence. The logging package in JDK 1.4 ignores org.apache.commons.logging.simplelog.defaultlog. I assume it will ignore SimpleLog.setLevel() also, but I've never tried that. Mike ---------- I have been looking for a way to get rid of these and the best guess I have currently is here: com.gargoylesoftware.htmlunit.HttpWebConnection, line 228: currently: ((SimpleLog)log).setLevel( SimpleLog.LOG_LEVEL_WARN ); change to: ((SimpleLog)log).setLevel( SimpleLog.LOG_LEVEL_OFF ); // or whatever other level will do it I'll test this as soon as I can get all the dependencies straightened out for the latest code.
