Hi,

Can you tell the status of the debian packaging ?

Since the project is active,
and until the package join the debian archive
It will be usefull to sync the debian patch upstream , isnt it ?

BTW, are possibilities to get htmlunit under a GPL compatible licence ?

Stay tuned

Are you saying there is already a debian package that has a patch for htmlunit in it?

As for the license, I suspect we would keep with the current version of the apache license. If that is ever 100% GPL compatible then this project would be as well.

My 2 cents as non licence expert: current license is and Apache 1 like license. I could imagine that it may be updated too Apache 2 license but I don't think it can one day become a GPL licence as all dependencies are involved as well.

    Hi,
If it maters, I built a quick and dirty package
    see http://rzr.online.fr/q/html (then apt etc)

But I'll have to fix this and rebuilt it from sources using maven ...

I am not aware of any Debian packaging for HtmlUnit.

Generally I have a bad experience with jars packaged in a linux archive and therefore I'm not interested in a debian HtmlUnit package. This being said, if someone is willing to do the job, I would welcome it and can give support if needed,

I'm not a license expert but as far as I know Apache 2 is GPL compatible (the contrary is wrong). I don't see any interest in distributing HtmlUnit under a dual license as so many dependencies of HtmlUnit have an Apache 2 license.
