According to Irwin Kwan: > My search engine was working fine, but today I tried it and realised > that the search results page was blank. > > The Number of Pages returned all right, the Checkboxes I selected were > checked, and generally all of my other options saved. (But I'm recompiling as we speak > with a newer snapshot...) The Nov. 25 snapshot should be fine. There's only been one trivial change to contrib/examples/rundig.sh since then. I can think of two things that would cause the behaviour you describe. One would be a corrupted db.docdb file, which reindexing should fix. The other would be unreadable result template files, as defined by your template_map attribute. If you use template_map, make sure all the files it refers to actually exist and are readable by you and by the user ID under which the web server runs. Also, all directories leading down to these template files must be readable and executable by these user IDs. Running htsearch 3.1.6 with -v from the command line will give you some feedback if some of the template files are missing/unreadable. That won't help if the problem only happens when running from the web server, though. -- Gilles R.
