Technical

Which browsers are supported? IE 6 does not not work!

  • All the newer versions of the major browsers are supported.
  • IE 6 is more than 5years old and NOT supported - Please upgrade to a newer version of IE or use an alternative browser like Firefox.
  • Testing was done on Firefox 3.x, Google Chrome, IE 7,IE 8 and Safari browsers.
  • If you experience problems on the above list, please report it.
  • Dojo 1.4 supports only version 4 and above. Problems has been identified with the Dojo JSON login-page.

Please downgrade to Dojo 1.3x if you would like to support older versions of Safari


The lists inside some tabs disappear

  • This is a known issue - especially when you have a few tabs open.
  • Close and re-open a tab. This will recreate a new tab with the latest data.

I can't kick a user off

  • To kick a user off YFi Hotspot Manager tries to determine the type of NAS device a user is connected to.
  • It then executes disconnection code specific to the type of NAS device.
  • As of Beta-4 of YFi Hotspot Manager supports Chillispot related NAS devices as well as Mikrotik.
  • Ensure the device is identified as a Chillispot or Mikrotik type of device.
  • Ensure the NAS device is able to accept disconnect requests from YFi Hotspot Manager.

The application is slow

  • The initial load of the YFi Hotspot Manager in a browser will be slow, especially on slow links.
  • Subsequent loading should be very fast since the data served to the browser is compressed and most should already be cached on the client machine.

Which port does CoovaChilli UAM listens on?

  • When you compile the CoovaChilli program from source, it will by default be port 3990.
  • When you flash the CoovaChilli AP firmware onto a Linksys WRT54, it will be on port 3660.

Which GNU/Linux distro's are supported?

  • Ubuntu and CentOS has documentation available on this Wiki.
  • People who knows GNU/Linux should be able to get it running on their favorite distro.
  • It is known to run on FreeBSD.
