Profile Management
Introduction
The YFi Hotspot Manager assigns a profile to each Voucher or Permanent User that gets created.
A profile is similar to a group and applies a predetermined set of check and reply RADIUS attributes to the Voucher or Permanent User.
YFi Hotspot Manager also gives you the power to override a Voucher of Permanent User's profile attributes with personal attributes.
Profile Management
Profiles is managed by first creating a profile template which serves as a framework.
This profile template is then populated with chosen RADIUS check and reply attributes which is available in the active RADIUS dictionary files.
Once a profile template is created, it can be used to create individual profiles from. This profiles will add values to the check and reply attributes specified in the profile template.
Profile Templates
This section is a step-by-step to show how a profile template gets created in YFi Hotspot Manager.
- On the left side of the screen, select the Profiles accordion. This will show Profile Templates and Specific Profiles sub-menus.
- Selecting the Profile Templates will open a tab with a list of existing profile templates.
- This list will show the name of the template, to which realms it is available, the amount of check and reply attributes defined for this profile.
- To add a new template, click on the green plus at the top right of the screen. This will pop-up a dialog box requesting information which you have to supply.
- If you are part of the Adminastrators group, you will have the opportunity to make this new template available to all realms. Access Providers will only be able to make this template available to realms which they are assigned to.
- Give it a descriptive name like Chillspot Data Cap to indicate the functionality ( Limit the data on a Chillispot network).
- Once you are happy with the input. click save to add this new template to the list of available templates.
Adding and editing attributes
- Now that your net template is present, it is time to add some attributes.
- Select the template from the grid and click on the magnifying glass icon at the top right of the screen.
- This will open a tab which enables you to add and remove attributes.
- Select a vendor and attribute to add from the top of the page.
- To remove an attribute, simply select in in the grid and click on the trash can icon at the top right of the screen.
- Once an attribute is added to the grid you need to further edit the attribute's detail. The grid columns which have a green background is editable.
To edit a cell you simply double click inside it. This will change the cell to edit mode. The 'Check/Reply' and 'Units' columns have a select controll to choose fixed values from.
The tooltip text is a standard text entry.
- To save the new values simply click anywhere inside the 'Attribute Name' column. This will update the column which you just edited on the server.
Specific Profiles
This section is a step-by-step to show how a specific profile gets created in YFi Hotspot Manager.
- On the left side of the screen, select the Profiles accordion. This will show Profile Templates and Specific Profiles sub-menus.
- Selecting the Specific Profiles will open a tab with a list of existing profiles.
- This list will show the name of the profile, from which profile template it originated, to which realms it is available, the amount of check and reply attributes contained in this profile.
