The Beta-4 release of YFi Hotspot Manager now includes prepaid functionality for Permanent users.
When you create a Permanent User there is an option under Cap Type called Prepaid.
If you select this, the user's value for Yfi-Data and Yfi-Time as well as the Time and Data Extra's never gets reset.
This as oppose to the Soft and Hard caps which are reset at a specified time each month. (usually on the 1st)
You should assign a Permanent profile to the user with a value of 0 (Zero) or very low for Yfi-Data or Yfi-Time.
A user will then acquire Internet Credits which will be assigned to their name.
Internet Credits can be time, data or time and data based.
It is easy to write a third-party add-on to YFi Hotspot Manager that will handle the assignment of Internet Credits.
A user only has to remember one username and password. If they use vouchers, they have to supply a different username and password in with each new voucher.
PPOE Devices like DSL routers can make use of this functionality. This allow for a pre-defined username and password which can be entered onto the setup of the device.
When Intenet access is required the account is simply loaded with Internet Credits
As soon as the Internet Credits runs out - the user is disconnected from the Internet
(YFi Hotspot Manager instructs the NAS device to disconnect the user)
