I selected 'color candidates' from the options menu, in the 'active cell' view on the right it stayed showing 'default mouse'.
In the 'active cell\ window I set it to 'color candidate' and that then works fine.
If I then select a color in the bottom menubar, sometimes it takes a few clicks on different colors before it changes the rectangle on the far left, but the color it applies to the board and that is displayed on the 'active cell' panel is still the original one as is the one displayed next to the cursor pointer. If I click the 'R' in that bottom menu then the color next to the pointer vanishes, the far left rectangle goes white, the 'active cell' panel stays at the original color and when I click on a candidate it is colored with that original color still. Clicking on a colored cell removes the color correctly.
The 'active cell' panel seems fine but the bottom menubar doesn't work properly.
I'm on MacOS 10.13.6.
I think it's using:
$ which java
/usr/bin/java
$ java -version
java version "1.8.0_77"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_77-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.77-b03, mixed mode)
Hi Mark,
I wasn't aware HoDoku 2.3.0 had been released. I find it is on GitHub tho. I'd suggest you would do better to address issues with it there rather than here.
But then, even tho I'm signed in, I can't figure out how to post bug reports or feature requests there. There is this https://github.com/search?q=HoDoku&type=Issues, but it's not much help. :/
As a matter of fact, I would love to join in on that project as I believe I still might have something to offer.
On this page, https://github.com/PseudoFish/Hodoku/releases/tag/2.3.0, there's a "Pull requests" tab. From there you can create a "pull request". That's all I can find atm..
As far as I can tell, the bottom colour bar is not working at all. It only seems to be adding colours, but if I use it without first using options in Active cell view it does nothing.
I used the 'report error' feature in the program, foolishly assuming it would do what it was supposed to!
It does what it was supposed to do. Another issue for you to report on GitHub, perhaps?
You could try this one https://github.com/1to9only/HoDoKu/releases/tag/2.2.2
An improved version of my, unofficial, version 2.2.1 https://sourceforge.net/p/hodoku/discussion/general/thread/230a7495/?limit=25#3e4a
Now there's this:
