I notice for some time that after a region of, or series of disconnected cells is selected it is not possible then to return focus to one cell within the group directly. You have to click (switch focus to another cell) outside first, to deselect the whole group.
Not a major issue in itself - mildly inconvenient tho. This situation came about after some improvement was made to multi-select procedure (I forget what exactly), so I'm not complaining really.
The problem I discover occurs sometimes setting singles within the still selected area. As an example:
.-----------------.--------------------.------------------.
| 246 168 3 | 124789 28 24789 | 4578 125 14578 |
| 5 9 7 | 6 238 2348 | 48 123 1348 |
| 24 18 248 | 12478 5 23478 | 6 9 13478 |
:-----------------+--------------------+------------------:
| 346 356 456 | 89 1 689 | 589 7 2 |
| 8 2 9 | 3 7 5 | 1 4 6 |
| 1 7 56 | 289 4 2689 | 589 35 358 |
:-----------------+--------------------+------------------:
| 236 4 1 | 28 9 238 | 57 6 57 |
| 267 56 256 | 2457 26 1 | 3 8 9 |
| 3679 3568 568 | 4578 368 3478 | 2 16 14 |
'-----------------'--------------------'------------------'
With cells selected in row 7 and block 9 (and having excluded 5 and 7 from them) on the the basis of the Locked Pair 5/7 in Block 9, I now have a number of singles in view.
The naked single 6, in block 9, is where the problem can be demonstrated. If I set it as 6, with all the cells still selected, every candidate 6 within the group is set as 6. Which, of course, is invalid.
The hidden single 4, r9c9, can be set with no issue as it is the only candidate 4 within the range of cells selected.
My apologies. Since writing the above, I find there is no problem at all in returning focus to a single cell within a previously selected group.
All that remains is the mystery as to why it seemed, to me, impossible until now.
And, for me to be careful to click a blank area in the cell I want to select so as to avoid wrongly setting candidate(s).
