#2 hl7 and ssl

I'd like to know what SSL/TLS implementation HL7
interfaces use (i.e. what version, key strength).
What kind of interoperability has the project had with
products such as OpenLink by SMS.

I am working on a project where there are many clients
with openlink. We'd like to do this with encryption
but our HL7 interface is very rudimentary (custom
coded).

isnt this the responsibility of the web server/ client as with
normal tcp/ip communication?
