Every constructed cache has it's own OSCache instance. This is the same as the 'region' in JCS. For the lock, add the line from my previous comment to the catch.

Description:
Attached is an example how to integrate OpenSymphony OSCache and Hibernate's 2.1 caching system. Because of the fact that the cache is not reponsible for refreshing, the nice fail-over feature of OSCache is not used (yet).
