I just ran the tests on MS SQL with the JSQL driver
(http://www.j-netdirect.com/) - no problems.

Hibernate certainly does not work with Microsoft's JDBC driver (because its
crap) and this fact is metioned in the documentation. I never tried with
the other driver you mentioned.
