Interesting. I'm certainly not seeing this problem with 7.1.3 and the
released 7.2 driver. I can't test with postgres 7.2 right now because I
don't have a linux box handy and 7.2 isn't ported to cygwin yet.

By the look of your logs, you are using an older version of Hibernate ....
could you try it out with the current version in CVS?

also, you can see a lot more by setting the system property
hibernate.debug=2
