I gave up on using Hibernate shortly after finding this problem. So yes, it is *so important*. The major difference between Cayenne and Hibernate is that they seem to be helpful, unlike the attitude here. I can't believe it's taken nearly 5 months just to get any sort of response to this issue.

Bravo Hibernate! That's the way to go!
