[Hibernate] Structure of Hibernate (OO Design)

Hi all,

I am a PhD student at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. As part of=
 my
research I have performed an empirical study on a large corpus of open-so=
urce
Java software. If you are a developer of Hibernate you might be intereste=
d to
know that there are 618 source files all involved in one big dependency c=
ycle
(or to use the graph theory term, strongly connected component).

In any case, a comparison in terms of compilation dependencies between
Hibernate and all the other applications in the corpus (e.g. Eclipse, Net=
beans,
Azureus, ArgoUML, Ant, POI, Tomcat, Spring, and many, many more) is avail=
