Recorded from the Dolby Reference Player, from the Dolby AC4 Speaker Virtualization using Default °10 Speaker Angle and °0, also includes Headphone Virtualization
Unfortunately, these HRIR recordings have some obvious issues (some channels with strong reverb, others with no reverb), maybe because of misplaced channels in .wav or incorrect recording itself.

Glad to see you're still active even after 2 years Xarion99. I'm just now getting into this nitty gritty stuff. As I was searching for updated dolby hrirs i stumbled onto this thread https://sourceforge.net/p/hesuvi/discussion/general/thread/b2d12b70df/?page=1#3b68
Where this kind gentleman updated the dolby hrir and i started using his game profile. I think it's better than the original one from the hesuvi database. I am completely out of my depth in this subject however, so i would like your opinion on it. Have you found any updated or improved versions since? Or the one sent by Danil Timulib good enough? Using headphones, and my specific use case being gaming, especially warzone for the footsteps and the directionality.

I think DA HRIRs by Danil Timulib are good enough and there is nothing to update. I myself prefer Creative SBX for virtual surround audio so I don't use DA.

Got it. Do you have any recommendations though if i wanna use hesuvi for virtual surround? I lowkey liked the oal_dflt.wav for directionality. It felt even better than dolby, but the freq changes that came along with it didn't sit right with my ears. I liked some irc ones from more hrirs too for directionality, but they gave me a vertigo kinda feeling. Probably cuz they're made for specific individual ears. I'm guessing irc hrir is a lost cause for that same reason. But should i be changing the equalization from hesuvi itself or is using a peace.txt below hesuvi.txt in config editor better? Or should i just steer clear from eqing hrirs as the freq curve helps with the virtual surround and eqing it might break it? Sorry for these these rookie questions.

Both oal dflt and SADIE_D02 uses KEMAR dummy head which good for a lot of people. The tonality of SADIE actually sounds way better for me, so i thought it could be the same for you!

You're bang on the money! I liked SADIE_D02. It sounded great! SADIE_D01 sounded a bit better for me though. The EAC_Default one wasn't too bad either. I'll cycle between these and figure out which one suits me the best. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
Btw are there any completely neutral hrirs that don't mess with the tonality?

I think it's all individual. For me SBX is the best for neutral tonality. The lower surround effect the better. For example SBX17 sounds very close to the original audio but still has audible surround effect. Usually I use my own recorded and edited (slightly equalized) SBX40 and don't use any higher than 40.
Another very important part is your headphones. I prefer HP with almost flat frequency response so it will be less mess when using HRIRs.
And of course, you can use equalizer with HRIR you like.

Is the dolby headphone virtualization from the dolby access game profile?

If you like oal_dflt, try playing with SADIE_D02 from 3DJ database: https://airtable.com/appayGNkn3nSuXkaz/shruimhjdSakUPg2m/tbloLjoZKWJDnLtTc

Got it. I managed to find something that suits me as well. The EAC_DEFAULT hrir
Nope, it comes from Dolby Reference Player App for Windows
