#169 Cinelerra 7, very distorted audio when opening HD MP4 file

A short video created with Adobe Premiere CC pro, when imported in Cinelerra 7, has very distorted audio (not clipped). When starting and stopping playback with the spacebar many times, usually the audio becomes OK. If you then start from the beginning, it is OK from there too. The file plays OK on VLC. If Cinerella is started from a terminal as "./cinelerra", no errors are shown in the terminal.
Platform: Mint 18.3, AMD CPU 64bit. Video format according VLC 2.2.2: Codec H264 MPED-4 AVC part 10 avc1, resolution 1920x1080, frame rate 30, YUV planar 4:2:0. Audio format: MPEC AAC mp4a, stereo, 48 kHz
