Is there a list somewhere of the goals of this project? That is, a list of the problems with Eudora to be addressed in Hermes and any new features?
I have previously noted that the only issues I have with Eudora are:
SSL: resolved via stunnel
Decoding: UTF-8 and other decoding is bad in Microsoft's viewer
IMAP: doesn't work, I only use POP3 anyways
Eudora has been working great for me except for these last two issues. What issues are others concerned with that require a total redesign of Eudora? Can we not just fix what's wrong and leave everything else alone? For example, do we really need so much attention to a new gui, font, splash screen, etc?
I'm just a simple, longtime user of Eudora since 1999, now have 2000 mailboxes, 2Gb of storage and just have a couple issues that are nagging. Are other users really having so many issues with it to demand a total redesign?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:

As for IMAP, I promise that I will make that work brilliantly in Hermes (unless someone else does).
