So, lately I've been unable to view inline images in some emails, specifically those from Constant Contact and their rs6.net servers, using Microsoft's Viewer. I'm sure this will only get worse as it appears to be a certificate issue with IE10.
I updated to IE11 and Edge, same issue.
I copied Eudora to a Win10 1909 clean installation VM and the issue is gone. I do not want to switch to Win10 just to eliminate this issue.
So, if Hermes ever gets back on track, I wouldn't mind seeing this fixed. I certainly would welcome any suggestion to fix this now.

Of course, it works in Win7 if I open the email in another browser. Too bad we can't make Firefox or Chrome be the fancy viewer instead of IE. Or can we?

Well, not till the release of Hermes Mail, which should be soon. It's
fairly easy to adapt the Hermes Mail codebase to use EdgeHTML instead
of Trident (pretty much a global find-and-replace); and there's a
pre-built toolkit for Chrome as the fancy viewer. Problem is, the rest
of the interface won't properly compile and link without causing a
crash; I've been trying to find people to do this job who aren't
ruinously expensive or tied up elsewhere d/t Covid, but I think the
best idea at this point would be to pony up the $3,000 or $4,000 for
someone who (says he can) do it in "a couple of days,
fully-dedicated".

If you edit your eudora.ini file then it partially helps.
look for following and change the path and exe file to whichever browser you like. Then you can just click on the image and it will open in the browser of you chose.
URLHelper=C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.ex
(note, the browser may be located in c:\program files (x86)\internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe on windows 7)

That's far from a solution; you're assuming the image is a link, most are not. I can always right click and display in browser but, agani, a tiresome "solution".

Thanks for the update, Ted.
I get what you say, but not everyone (especially me) thinks that no news is good news. Even a few words, like "never fear, we're here" once in a while would be good. :-)

Sadly, i think once again Eudora users will be left in the dust.
The best thing we got here was TLS 1.2.
I'm grateful for that, but left disapointed.
Nobody's getting disappointed. Work is ramping up again. Winter was
mental hell and so were the tax authorities.

Some of the problems are related to 64 bit windows.
I run 32 bit win10 and seem to avoid them.
Last edit: Walt Stagner 2021-03-30
I'm running win10 64bit and experience no problems but I may not be using hermes enough to encounter them
Eudora is my sole email client, so if there are issues...they should easly find me. :-)
