I am using Ubuntu 13.04. Other Java programs are working.
I tried both HelloNzb 1.2.2 and 1.2.1. Both have the same problem in my computer:
The start works fine, then I want to make the settings. I can enter the settings. When I want to same them, I get the error that I wrote in the subject.
After restart, all settings are gone, nothing was saved. I can't use HelloNzb because there are always only empty settings.
What could be the problem? Thank you!

Hello and thanks for your bug report. I have tested it now on my Linux dev machine with latest HelloNzb version from sourceforge and it works fine here. Can you please check the contents of the following file, before you start HelloNzb, and after you start it and set it up. Does this file contains the values you have set in the application preferences?
Have you tried setting the hostname in the "Server Settings" preferences?
HelloNzb checks for this value to see whether a config has been made.
If you set the hostname, save the prefs., and restart the application,
is that server hostname than be restored correctly?

Thank you, now it's working :-)
The problem was very simple: I didn't realize that "Server Name" ist just a description, and that in "Host" must be written the full news server address. It's not really self-explanatory.
Thanks for your help, and maybe you can write some "tooltip" or small help on these two values.
Cool software!
