#1781 Status bar flicker and cannot hide status bar

What is the problem that needs to be solved (required)?
The status bar flickers to refresh stats (which I don't need)

What is the idea in abstract terms (optional)?
I wish I could hide the status bar, which I would not want to see even if
it were flicker-free.

Example workflow using the new feature (optional)?
Tools > Options > Hide status bar

No chance. The status bar is vital for nearly all users, to see what's happening
currently.

Flickering is a Delphi/VCL problem - I'm unable to solve that.
