Can you create a version that can communicate with Sqlite or other
databases besides MySQL?
I've been searching for a while for a good sqlite frontend, but I can't
find anything as nice as HeidiSQL.

It's very unlikely although not impossible that we ever start supporting a different
DBMS. Probably if the developers stop working with MySQL on their jobs so they see
the need for it. Though MySQL specifics are very interlocked in HeidiSQL.

So maybe JHeidi is the way to go? It already has Oracle support.

Just started to give MSSQL support a chance. Once that is done, other dbms can follow more easily. The first one needs a huge OOP based code change, so HeidiSQL has one TDBConnection class and multiple descendants for MySQL, MSSQL and maybe more to come.

[r3729] introduces a moreorless abstract connection class, from which the MySQL connector derives. This opens the door now for supporting multi dbms.

Maybe you can think about it again? I really think that SQLite support is a great idea, one time that not exists good apps to manager it and it is very popular. v9.0?

I'm not familiar with SQLite in any way yet. It would probably help if someone would give me some first develop hints here, just like you did with Transifex. What dll do I need to use? Or is there some native Pascal implementation?

I think that you just need a DLL (~300KB http://www.sqlite.org/download.html). Do you know about ZEOS Lib? Seems that it'll help you manager SQLite files.
Well, the problem that I see is that SQLite files not are hosted, are local. So you need make some changes on Session Manager to accept select a SQLite file.

HeidiSQL has been using the horrible ZEOS library long ago. I think it was in a 3.0 and 4.0 release still in use, until I broke with ZEOS for the benefit of a much more flexible and light weighted implementation of an abstraction layer.
Well, if there is a dll, why not try it. Any more hints on how to use the dll? Some official documentation available?
