I have used a TS480 with no problems. Both with HamLib and C#, RigCtl and various other methods all at 57600 baud. I haven't used Perl but just thought I would point out that the baud rate is not fixed so low. Good luck James, M1DST -----Original Message----- From: ham...@li... However up to now I am using 2 softwares > that use perl hamlib, with ts850 and ts790 I have no problem most > probably because default speed is set up for 4800, but ts480 does not > work with perl hamlib, would it be because of speed ? > > I played a bit with hamlib and changed some details on hamlib/kenwood/ts480.c file, I changed .serial_rate_max to 9600 and .serial_stop_bits to 2. Now I can play with grig only choosing ts480 number: ct1drb@linux-qfx0:~/hamlib/kenwood> grig -m 228 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;GRIG;;4;;grig_debug_init: Debug handler initialised. 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig:rig_init called 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig: loading backend kenwood 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;kenwood: _init called 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (213) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (201) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (225) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (203) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (204) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (216) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (224) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (205) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (207) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (209) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (210) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (222) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (214) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (221) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (202) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (211) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (206) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (208) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (215) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (226) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (217) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (220) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (223) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (227) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig_register (228) 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;HAMLIB;;4;;rig:rig_open called 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;GRIG;;4;;rig_daemon_check_mode: Found frequency range for mode 2 2007/08/26 14:46:05;;GRIG;;4;;rig_daemon_check_mode: 100...(50096)...60000 kHz 2007/08/26 14:46:06;;GRIG;;4;;rig_daemon_check_level: Maximum RF power is 100,000 watts 2007/08/26 14:46:06;;GRIG;;4;;rig_daemon_start: Daemon thread started However I still could not work it with perl, I compile hamlib with switch --with-perl-binding but aparently ts480 is not included on perl for some reason Any help will be usefull.
