It's a typo that's existed since the earliest days of the project, I
believe. Another follow-up explains the reason it, and several other
directories, still exist.
Subversion is able to remove/rename directories, but until SourceForge
replaces CVS with Subversion we will be stuck with the limitations of
CVS.
