Thanks to Daniel Wolff, we have solved an issue that has vexed users of the FT-450, FT-950, FT-2000, FT-5000, and FT-9000. For these radios it is essential that in Fldigi's Hamlib configuration tab that the value in the "Write delay" box be set to 0 and that the RTS/CTS flow control box be checked. These values are needed so that the afore mentioned radios will work with Fldigi in their default menu configuration (menu items CAT TOT defaults to 10 mSEc, and CAT RTS defaults to Enable). I have committed changes to each of these backends to the Hamlib SVN that now set the write_delay to 0 to work within the limit of the default value of CAT TOT and serial_handshake to Hardware to work with the default value of CAT RTS. These changes are effective as of Hamlib SVN revision 3012 and can now be found in the Hamlib daily snapshot at: http://n0nb.users.sourceforge.net Setting the values in Fldigi as noted above will override the backend defaults so that an updated Hamlib is not necessary to improve performance of these radios with Fldigi. So this should work with the most recent stable versions of Fldigi and Hamlib. I encourage owners of these radios to try these values with the Hamlib backend and provide feedback. 73, de Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
