fine that we got it working on Opensolaris at last.

And congrats for the final step :-). As I read your last mail my first idea was
to look for the correct baudrate. You managed yourself to find it out :-).

By the way, rigctl allows you to select a baudrate different from the default
one: 'rigctl -s 4800' was also possible.

Hmm, I do not much know about the ft-857 backend. As I see Stephane has 
done the most work. So I think we should see if someone on the list can
step in and give some hints to that problems.

Sure. I still have to find a way to integrate our success into the automated
configure-process. I have some ideas, but these have to be tested.
