Hi Folks, I have a rather strange behaviour here. I have two machines, both running Ubuntu 22.04.1, both have the same hamlib packages installed: * libhamlib2-3.3-10build1 * libhamlib4-4.3.1-1build2 * libhamlib-utils-4.3.1-1build2 However, if I want to start rigctld on both machines, I get an error on one of them: $ /usr/bin/rigctld -m 2014 -r/dev/ts-2000_4 /usr/bin/rigctld: symbol lookup error: /usr/bin/rigctld: undefined symbol: network_multicast_server I have no clue, how to resolve this problem ... and why there is this difference between the two machines. Anyone any ideas? - Thanks a lot inadvance! VY73 Stefan. -- Stefan U. The default rate in Hamlib will be the slowest rate of the rig's baud range. That's one setting operators are expected to know how to set and read. The main problem is that other software like WSJT-X and such have no idea of default baud rates either. I don't mind having to stating it on the command line. However, trying to navigate the manual suggests to me that such discrepancies exist. For example, for the FT-991A both the antenna sockets are of M type and where with the problems I had with a used 991A where I thought the previous owner had used anATAS antenna. The manual suggested that was set up in menu 143, when it is actually 141. It is a shame that such errors are published and makes it difficult for people like developers. Perhaps, Hamlib does not take it's defaults from such publications. Anyway, I just thought I would make that observation known. 73 Georgina Call: M0EBP DMR ID: 2346259 Allstar: 52178 Locater: IO83PS _______________________________________________ Hamlib-developer mailing list Ham...@li... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hamlib-developer |

Hello All, Another blind ham has recently purchased a Xiegu X6100 and we are hoping that we can add some accessibility to it. However, we are told the command set is the Icom command set. I found a forum post discussing the G1M where there was talk of a xml file that it was presented itself as a Icom radio. How do we generate this xml file? Or how do we interrogate the radio to use it with rigctl? The X6100 owner (Den) tells me that he thinks he has communication with the radio but he can't get or change things like VFO or frequency. Isn't there an extra parameter that the Icom command set requires to work? Any hints of how to get this SDR under the control of rigctl would be very much appreciated. Thank you. For MSVC install the NUGet pthread package Mike W9MDB On Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:24:34 AM CDT, Philip Rose - GM3ZZA via Hamlib-developer <ham...@li...> wrote: Thanks Nate, I am trying to use the 32-bit .exe with MSVC 2019, but immediately fell over missing pthread.h. After months of work by Mike and many contributors, Hamlib 4.5 is released to the wild. Downloads are available from: https://github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/releases/tag/4.5 https://sourceforge.net/projects/hamlib/files/hamlib/4.5/ The changes are many. Here is a sample from the NEWS file: Version 4.5 * 2022-10-30 * New rotator utility https://www.pianetaradio.it/blog/catrotator/ * Add FT-710 * Add Rohde&Schwartz EK89X receiver * Add Xeigu X5105 * Add Gemini DX-1200 HF-1K Amplifiers * Kenwood rigs should now support AI command packets * Add FT-990UNI for older 990 ROMs 1.2 and earlier * Add FT-650 * Add get_separator and set_separator and -S option for rigctld -- node-red applicability * Add GRBLTRK rotor project -- two axis rotor * enum meter_level_e is deprecated and will be removed in 4.6 * Add SDRPlay SDRUno rig -- can now use Data/Pkt in WSJTX * Add ability to use cat_string to FLRig via the "w" and "W" commands * Add -B/--mapa2b to rigctlcom Allows rigctlcom to map set_freq on VFOA to VFOB instead This will allow CW Skimmer to work with some rigs (e.g. IC7300) using FM mode on VFOA and CW mode on VFOB and split mode transmit on VFOB. Clicking on CW Skimmer will change VFOB instead of VFOA to allow working dxpeditions where the fox is staying on frequency * Add password capability to rigctld via -A switch. rigctld -A will produce a consistent shared key for any specific password that can used in \password and rig_set_pas TBD The shared key can also be placed in .hamlib_settings * Asynchronous rig data output handling to support transceive and spectrum data. Mikael, OH3BHX Example for the IC-7300 to multicast on port 20001 and provide async rig information rigctld --port=20001 --model=3073 --serial-speed=115200 --rig-file=/dev/serial/... --set-conf=rts_state=OFF --set-co Also, spectrum data output needs to be enabled with: \set_func SPECTRUM 1 * See new set_conf option async for some Icom rigs * Multicast UDP packet output for asynchronous data. Mikael, OH3BHX * Rig state poll routine to serve commonly used data like frequency and mode from cache. Mikael, OH3BHX * deprecated hamlib_port_t at front of rig_state structure -- new one at end of structure * New rig_send_raw to send/read raw command to rig * New RIG_LEVEL_BAND_SELECT for Yaesu rigs * New rig_get_conf2 to replace rig_get_conf buffer overflow potential * New rot_get_conf2 to reaplce rot_get_conf buffer overflow potential * Added Barrett 4050 -- not functional yet * Added TCI 1.X -- not functional yet * Added TM-V71(A) * Added IC-F8101 * Added JRC JST-145 and JST-245 * Added Xiegu X108G, G90, and X6100 * Added CODAN Envoy and NGS * Added Lab599 TX-500 * Added GOMSPACE GS100 * Deprecated: rigctl commands \set_trn (A) and \get_trn (a) as they never worked as intended * Deprecated: field rig_caps.transceive and RIG_TRN_* macros Enjoy! 73, Nate -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds.
