I have contacted Sam Hopkins at OpenMethods whether OpenVXML is under active version control (and therefore development) and our intent to sync changes with HALEF, and perhaps even become OpenVXML developers.

How long do you envision the discussions with the OpenVXML folks taking? It’s really not good for us to be sending code back and forth like this... If it will take much longer, can we go ahead and just put the ggs.py script under version control somewhere, perhaps in our internal Stash repository?

Good question. They've been pretty prompt in the past in getting back to me, so I wonder why they are taking so long this time. But you are right; I completely concur with the idea of putting this stuff under version control. Perhaps a stopgap solution would be Stash, or perhaps I can start a new OpenVXML repo on HALEF with this single file to start off with, with the rest of the repo coming later.
