Naturally there are a range of curves, but the RIAA curve is the most common and it would be easier to implement a single curve rather than an editable equalizer. If you have a record with one of the other curves you can still use another audio editor like audacity to level it first.

an equalizer would be just as good. 78rpm records were made under a wide range of recording curves and are difficult to correct in software.
