The OpenGL support was dropped due to constant problems encountered with it.
DirectX redistributable included in the installer package.
Following the launch of v.0.201 a quick fix was devised in the form of 0.202. This fixes some issues with the installers, and some direct3d compatibility issues.
An update of the webpage was also performed.
There was a lot of progress in the last few months, the code is pretty much a disaster at this point, not following a specific coding style or set of patterns; basically everything was rewritten while learning new stuff.
Among the changes:
- multithreaded approach (yeah... that was fun)
- removed own implementations of utility classes and switched to the STL and boost libraries.
- stepped away a bit from the Ogre Example Framework and implemented some in-game configuration.
- other stuff that I don't recall at this point.
The game is pretty much done, but there is still some testing to be done, some crashes on some video-cards etc.
I got really busy at work and I had to let Serpents aside for a while (aprox. 2 months). The situation at work doesn't look likely to improve anytime soon, but I will try nevertheless to re-start the Serpents project.
A lot of the code was rewritten, including a multi-threaded boost approach, the development of an own wrapper for the audiere library, and other minor features. But I'm still not satisfied with the result so a lot of it will be scrapped.
No ideea about when the next version will be released. Stay tuned though.
