We try to install WS-PGRADE/gUSE on our server and have some problem (we have already installed and working Liferay 6.1.2).
First of all when we try to install application using console installation wizard, we are getting en error: [ Starting processing ]

We don't have X terminal window access so we need to run this wizard through the console.
We tried to run wizard localy, but there is only two types of installation (frontend, backend or both). With frontend wizard it will install liferay (but we have it already installed). If we resign of frontend instalation, wizard will not install WS-PGRADE.
Do you have some tutoriall how to integrate this application with an existing liferay instance (step by step)?
We have Liferay 6.1.2 CE,
server: 64bit scientific linux 6.3
java version: 1.7.0_55
mysql: 5.1.73

I think it should not be difficult to adapt the steps to the new version of gUSE 3.6.3. Here you should skip the Liferay installation and Liferay database creation.
WS-PGRADE/gUSE is properly running using the following configuration:
Liferay 6.0.5
Java 6 (the latest available Oracle-Sun Java 6 version)
MySQL 5.0.x was tested
Therefore I believe you could potentially have some issues running with your configuration.
Please let us know if you need further help.
Kind regards,
Eva.

Thanks for the guide. Michal was checking it, but it doesn't work well with a newer installation and newer system components (e.g. Tomcat 7).
Meanwhile, we agreed with Alessandro that we would try another approach - installing a virtual machine with gUSE. However, an instruction on how to install gUSE on an existing Liferay portal (and, preferably, in command-line mode - without GUI), could be useful probably as well to other users.

Joanna

This machine is more than one year old (2012-10-04) and it is probably equipped with an old guse version.
Can you please provide the community with a new VM (at least guse 3.6.2 ) so that we can exploit the Direct Cloud Access new feature ?
Regards,
Alex

the gUSE 3.6.5 VM image (guse-3.6.5.gz) is available in the /Home/3.6.5/ directory within Files menu. You find a short description about image usage in /Home/3.6.5/Documentation directory.

Hi,
please follow the steps of gUSE Install Wizard Manual. This document together with other gUSE documents is available from gUSE SourceForge page. You find the latest Install Wizard Manual here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/guse/files/3.6.3/Documentation/gUSE_Install_Wizard_Manual_v3.6.3.pdf/download
Regards,
WS-PGRADE/gUSE Team
Dear Michal,
the oldest versions of WS-PGRADE/gUSE had a step-by-step guide to install Liferay and WS-PGRADE/gUSE separately.
Please refer for example to this document:
https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/guse/3.4.3/docs/Portal_Installation_Manual_v3.4.3.pdf?r=http%3A%2F%2Fsourceforge.net%2Fprojects%2Fguse%2Ffiles%2F3.4.3%2Fdocs%2F&ts=1400087164&use_mirror=cznic
which worked for version 3.4.3.
I think it should not be difficult to adapt the steps to the new version of gUSE 3.6.3. Here you should skip the Liferay installation and Liferay database creation.

We would like to use, as an initial framework, the virtual machine provided by guse at http://sourceforge.net/projects/guse/files/DevImage/
This machine is more than one year old (2012-10-04) and it is probably equipped with an old guse version.
Can you please provide the community with a new VM (at least guse 3.6.2 ) so that we can exploit the Direct Cloud Access new feature ?

This was already planned. Very soon the new VM will be available.
Cheers,
Peter
Are there any updates on the work on the new VM?
Cheers,
Joanna
Dear Joanna,
The VM image containing a stock 3.6.5 deployment will be announced very soon (probably tomorrow).
Cheers,
Zoltan

Dear Tibor,
in order to customize the gateway we would need the root password of the MySQL server installed into the gUSE 3.6.5 VM. Would it be possible?
Thank you in advance,
Eva.
