A while back I was looking at LCD displays for another project and came across this link: http://store.earthlcd.com/s.nl/c.318770/sc.7/category.89/it.I/id.101/.f It seems some other company has done a direct pin-to-pin connection from a PXA255 to an LCD display. The pin reference is here http://www.earthlcd.com/sa1110.htm. You can see its listed for the SA110, but I think the LCD controller is (relatively) untouched. The company, Earth LCD, sells the 640x480, 256+ color 7.8" display for $99. Its not a great LCD, but it is larger, color, fairly cheap and includes a built-in touchscreen interface (4-wire resistive, so break out your A/D boys). Doesn't work outdoors or in sunlight though (miserable 45:1 contrast and 80cd/m2 brightness). -----Original Message----- From: gum...@li... I'm trying to find a company that will sell me the mate to the Hirose DF12C(3.0)60DS0 on the gumstix. The only things even close that digi-key carries are: H2755-ND <http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?Ref=127556&Row =262088&Site=US> DF12(3.0)60DP0.5V(80 H2737-ND <http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail?Ref=127556&Row =261704&Site=US> DF12A(3.0)60DS0.5V80 One of my problems is figuring out what the part number to mate the DF12C(3.0)60DS0. But I assume if I can find a place that sells the same connector that they will also sell the mate. Also I'm curious as to how painful this is going to be to solder (I have an itty bitty soldering iron and am going to pick up some magnifying glasses). Must it exist on a PCB or can i put some tiny wires on each pin and perhaps tack it down to the gumstix with a bit of tape? PS- after reading the specs to the PXA255 and visiting http://www.timeline-inc.com/lcd.html I've become confident that I can pick up a little mono LCD for cheap and actually plug it into a newer gumstix. Seems like you can have a decent display for under $30. You all should dig into the PXA255 specs, it's an amazing chip and makes Gumstix an amazing deal. -- Jon ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
