Hi All, I'm a newbie on Linux and just obtained a Gumstix Overo FE. I'm trying to update the gumstix with the latest stable release from http://cumulus.gumstix.org/images/angstrom/factory/2011-03-25-1619/ http://cumulus.gumstix.org/images/angstrom/factory/2011-03-25-1619/ using the 'boot.scr' script from http://wiki.gumstix.org/index.php?title=U-Boot http://wiki.gumstix.org/index.php?title=U-Boot I copied the MLO first, followed by u-boot.bin and uImage to the FAT partition. i also copied the following files to the FAT partition as per script same MLO as x-load-new same u-boot.bin as u-boot-new.bin same uImage as uimage-new My bootable 8GB SDHC card is from gumstix and has the following parameters. H=255, S=63, C=967 <-- rounded down from 967.589 or should I round it up to 968?? 1GB FAT partition and remaining is EXT3. Gumstix booted successfully from the SD card and executed the flashing according to the boot.scr with the SUCCESS message. I proceed to shutdown the machine and took out the SD card. Power up but the machine will not load the kernel. Giving a Warning of Bad CRC and stop at the prompt Overo#. Can someone guide me and point out if I missed anything or the wiki is missing some instructions. Thanks in adv. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/-Help-Reflashing-Overo-using-U-Boot-script-failed-with-Bad-CRC-tp31739306p31739306.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
