Hi, This is probably a stupid question, but I've been searching through the mailing list about installing pyserial and still without success. I've used the latest stable prebuild factory image for overo, since it already had python installed. http://cumulus.gumstix.org/images/angstrom/factory/overo-201010200957/ I downloaded the pyserial library at http://pypi.python.org/pypi/pyserial and run python setup.py, I got this error. Traceback (most recent call last): File "setup.py", line 8, in <module> from distutils.core import setup ImportError: No module named distutils.core I also tried the image created by Neil, at http://cumulus.gumstix.org/images/angstrom/developer/2011-03-22-1537/ and tried to run python setup.py, with the same errors. I understand that pyserial package is already available in oe, but I don't understand where can I find stable images for oe. And what repositories should I use to install pyserial. There are also suggestions about using bitbake to create my own image with pyserial installed. As for now, I'm looking for the least effort route. I hope I don't have to go playing around with bitbake. It sounds complicated. I'm using Overo Fire with Palo35 expansion board. Thank you in advance. --Joey -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Newbie-installing-pyserial-tp31232469p31232469.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
