These are the images that are used to pre-flash the Overo modules at the factory. Ash updates the images in factory_images whenever the factory begins using a new image. As you noticed, the factory image doesn't change all that often, usually just when new hardware is introduced that isn't supported in the earlier image. > Sakoman (Thanks a lot, since it is Steve's private project if i understand > right  ) prebuilt images were available from > http://www.sakoman.com/feeds/omap3/glibc/images/overo/. The latest date is > November. As indicated by the documentation on gumstix.net, this is the place to pick up "official" Overo images, and the package repository used by these images (at gumstix.net/feeds) is the "official" repository. And yes, the most recent pre-built image is from November. Neil MacMunn has taken over the Overo OE branch maintenance and is currently setting up a new "official" Gumstix Inc. build server, so the URL for the official pre-built images is likely to change in the near future. I'm sure he will post a notice to the list when these images become available, in the meantime continue using the URL mentioned above (and also of course in the documentation on gumstix.net!). > and a new repo appeared by the name of gnome-r12 after this date. > Unfortunatelly these images does not contain the overo gles related things. > There also existed a repo for the online update using opkg: > http://www.sakoman.com/feeds/unstable/ipk/glibc/ and a new after the > mentioned date: http://feeds.sakoman.com/feeds/ The GNOME stuff is a personal project and as such has its own OE branch and binary package repository on my site. It is not a Gumstix project and is not supported by Gumstix, so use it at your own risk! > So my main qestion, is there some image corresponding to the current ipk > repo and which is the current repo ? As mentioned above, the official images are at http://www.sakoman.com/feeds/omap3/glibc/images/overo/ They automatically will use the package repository on gumstix.net. > For example the image contains the gles > 4.x but the ipk repo does not (pre novmber). I'll do a repo sync this morning to make sure that it does. > I''ve seen a lot of activity racently related to gnome-r12 and also found an > ipk repo for it. I haven't needed the gles/sgx features myself, but will add them to future builds since a number of folks have requested this. > Please help me and clarify which repo shall be used for an up-to-date system > without the need of a build enironment. Hopefully I clarified things! Steve |
