Hi, I had a similar issue and you may test the serial to usb conveter (FTDI) on the Tobi as follow: - Connect the Tobi to the usb as usual - Keep the reset button pushed - shorten the rx/tx pins on the header (for the pin number check the HW docs, I don't remember) (Note: no soldering, just a fast test ) Now you should have a simple loop-back and should get back everything you enter. If not, the serial to usb converter might be wrong. You may also try any usb to serial converter (or a serial port of the pc) connecting it to the RX/TX on the Tobi through a level shifter(!). The logic levels of the Tobi are not the usual 5V but something like 1.8V. (not sure) But first check your terminal settings as suggested.
