Hi chaps, I'm trying to set up the Gumstix as per the instructions on the "getting-started" page, and have encountered a snag. I've created the bootable SD card, and I'm using the console port to log into the Gumstix. I have created a shell-script which contains the program detailed on this page (http://www.gumstix.net/Setup-and-Programming/view/Overo-Setup-and-Programming/Writing-images-to-onboard-nand/111.html) in the recommended /home/root/images folder. When I first ran it, I got a load of error messages saying it couldn't find any of the relevant files. Ok, so I mounted the FAT32 partition of the SD card and copied the MLO, u-boot.bin and uImage.bin files across into the /home/root/images folder where my script was. It now seems happy until it gets to looking for the rootfs tarball, where it returns "ERROR: couldn't find rootfs tarball". What do I do? The instructions said that I should use my development machine to untar the file system into one of the partitions, so as far as I am aware the rootfs tarball isn't going to be on the SD card. Any help would be much appreciated, and please bear in mind that my knowledge of linux is superficial at best. Yours, Hugo |
