I just finally was able to get a bb of the sakoman gnome image with no errors. Though when connected to a LCD monitor it connects as if its through the terminal. When issuing the command startx it gives the following errors: root@overo:~# startx hostname: Unknown host xauth: creating new authority file /home/root/.serverauth.1273 xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): no server "/usr/bin/X" in PATH Use the -- option, or make sure that /usr/bin is in your path and that "/usr/bin/X" is a program or link to the right type of server for your display. xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): Unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error. if I do the command gnome-session I get the error: ** ( gnome-session:1296): WARNING **: Cannot open display: If I do the command X if get : -sh: X: not found I am in runlevel 5 the way this has me boot in. I have tried to google this but most suggestions I get through google to not match the file structres that they list or I can not find the same files on the rfs. Thanks for any input on this .. ----- Just a beginner trying to learn his way around. -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/startx-issues-with-sakoman-gnome-image-tp28938535p28938535.html Sent from the Gumstix mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |
